I grew up smack dab in the middle of five sisters (that's me in the red).

As a military family, we moved every couple years. 

It could have been easy to be lost in the shuffle.

But, my parents didn't let that happen. For instance, on my 8th birthday, they gave me a journal with my name beautifully written on the cover.

It made me feel seen.

It even started me on my path to become a professional writer (ashtonpen.com).

This is the 'why' behind ashtonink calligraphy. 

It's not about the flourishes ~

It's about connection.
